About Myoton

Myoton AS was established as a spin-off from the University of Tartu, Estonia, with the ambitious aim of pioneering the development of soft tissue palpation technology. 

The founder and visionary behind the measurement method is Dr. Arved Vain, who has devoted most of his professional career to researching and developing measurement solutions for skeletal muscle tone and biomechanical properties.

Down the road, years of R&D have manifested state-of-the-art technology in digital palpation as a new standard for assessment of soft biological tissues in general.

The company provides technical support to researchers worldwide to support scientific studies with MyotonPRO devices in various medical and sports applications.

The company is headquartered in Tallinn, Estonia.

Myoton holds technology patents in the EPO region, US, JAP, CAN and AU.

Our Mission

Modern medicine has seen numerous novel solutions improve the quality of patient care. However, there are fields where there have been no major breakthroughs. One of them being objective and non-invasive assessment of skeletal muscles and other soft biological tissues.

As of today, there is a lack of simultaneously practical, objective, non-invasive and cost-effective solutions that are widely accessible.

Myoton has developed an innovative digital palpation solution to fill this gap in muscle and soft tissue assessment. Our mission is to provide non-invasive and cost-effective technology for the measurement and monitoring of biological soft tissues consistent with the principles of preventative and evidence-based medicine.
